Careers with Cool Ponds

Landscape Crew Member

On Cool Ponds' landscape crew, you'll work with our small, amazing team, creating all types of incredible backyard landscaping projects for our customers. There's really no better feeling than seeing that huge smile on customer's face when we've completed their backyard paradise!
Job Description

Here’s what your job will entail:

  • Work days Tuesday - Friday 8am - 6pm (you will love having three day weekends!).

  • We will train you in everything you need to know about landscaping and pond building. If you have experience in any kind of construction-type work, let us know! Carpentry, electrical, and plumbing knowledge always comes in handy (but is not necessary).

  • This is a seasonal job that runs March through November.

  • Building water features requires great communication. You’ll work closely with all members of our staff.

In the spring and fall, you’ll be doing pond cleanings. You’ll drive one of our company vehicles to service water features all over the city. Customers are so thankful to have you help get their ponds straightened up!

Why Cool Ponds Rocks

We are highly protective of our play time! Our landscape crew works Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 6pm. We work hard during those 40 hour work weeks, but it's worth the sweat for three day weekends!

One of the reasons Cool Ponds has been around since 2004 is our ability to adapt and grow. We need fellow team members who are just as adaptable.

We are also a tobacco-free company. We believe very strongly in creating a safe and comfortable work environment for our entire crew and our customers.

All of us at Cool Ponds have chosen our careers because we genuinely love our work. We love what we do. We have a ton of fun working together. If you're missing joy in your work day, then this is a job for you.
  • A proven capacity to do hard work. We ask that you have some sort of outdoor labor experience. Although this job is rewarding, it can be physically hard.
  • A willingness to learn. We will teach you everything you need to know.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions. We work in some really tough conditions. Indiana summers are hot. And cleaning a pond in March is cold. If you can work hard and still have a smile on your face, you'll fit in just fine.
  • You'll need to love being outdoors. We try to mimic nature as best as we can. To understand how to build a natural waterfall, you'll need to know what a natural waterfall looks like!
  • Clear communication. You'll be texting, emailing, calling, and speaking face to face not only with your fellow landscape crew members but with every member of Cool Ponds. And your customers too.
  • A fun-loving attitude. What's the point of working a job if it's no fun to you? We come to work every day excited to be here -- what we do is cool and the people we work with are fun to be around.
  • $18 / hr starting pay
  • 3 day weekends

  • Two weeks' paid vacation

We hire for personality over experience, and for that reason we have a wonderful group of people that work here at Cool Ponds. It's a fun, relaxed environment. When we asked our current crew "What's something about working here that we left off this job ad?", they all answered: the culture.

We ask that you please apply onlineIf your work history and personality questions fit for what we're looking for, we will get in touch with you for an interview.
