Join us for fun, learning and exploring . . . Dates of classes will be announced by January 1st, 2008. This page includes a sampling of the sort of classes we provide. Send us an email at info@coolponds.net - we'll send you the class list as soon as it comes out. Our mission is to educate the public about water gardening. One way we accomplish this is through our pond classes — most of which are free. Pre-Registration is required because the class sizes are limited. Pre-Register online
April 12, 10:00am, 2:00pm Start Up Saturday Learn what's necessary to get a pond ready for the coming season, from fish care to plant care, to actually cleaning your pond the correct way. We will clean a pond at our store during the seminar – don't worry you will just watch! We will offer tips on how to prepare your pond so that it will be healthy and beautiful all season long! Dress appropriately to be outside. April 12, 11:30am All About Algae Is that string algae driving you crazy? How do you keep it at bay– and in the cool water of spring? We have the answer – and we'll share it with you at this seminar. Also covered – the dreaded green water. We will discuss why you may have it this summer and how you can prevent it. April 19, 10:00am Water Gardening 101 Water Gardening is a rapidly growing hobby across the country – with great reason! Learn about the different types of water gardens and how to choose what's right for you. We'll teach you the low maintenance way to water gardening – just relax and enjoy! May 3, 10:00am Class Specials all day Aquatic Plant Extravaganza We eagerly anticipate the day aquatic plants are available each spring. Join us for a seminar detailing how to care for your beautiful aquatic plants, how to choose your aquatic plants, and strategies to use your aquatic plants for your pond maintenance! We will have great plant specials all day. June 14, 10:00am to 5:00pm Cool Ponds Water Garden Festival and Pond Tour It's the best day of the year for water garden enthusiasts. Join others as we celebrate our joy in water gardening. Listen to experts in the field of koi, turtles, and frogs as they present seminars and discussions as well as presentations and exhibits from watergardening clubs, and local businesses. Many more events will be announced later in the spring. Don't miss these great seminars and the best prices of the season! June 21, 8:30am Build a Pond Day $35 Fee Per Person ($50 for two) Get ready to have some fun and get dirty! During this day long class, participants will actually build a Pond from start to finish. We will start from bare ground and finish with a full functioning water garden with plants and fish by day's end. There is a fee of $35 per participant for this class ($50 per couple). Class fee includes lunch and a t-shirt upon completion. Pre-registration is required. Class will be held rain or shine! Cancellation of class registration must be made at least one week prior to class for full refund of fee. June 28, 8:30am Build a Pondless Waterfall Day $35 Fee Per Person ($50 for two) Learn the tricks while working with the pros! During this day long class, participants will build a “pondless waterfall” from start to finish. There is a fee of $35 per participant for this class ($50 per couple). Class fee includes lunch and a t-shirt upon completion. Pre-registration is required. Class will be held rain or shine! Cancellation of class registration must be made at least one week prior to class for full refund of fee. July 12, 10:00am How to Build a Waterfall Back by popular demand! Learn how to build a waterfall that looks natural, has the sound and flow you want, and filters your pond at the same time! What could be better than that? This is a classroom seminar, not a hands-on demonstration. If you want a hands on approach, please register for the Build a Pond or Build a Pondless Waterfall class. July 12, 11:30am Water Treatments - Why natural is best There are many water treatment products on the market today. Learn why you should choose natural bacteria and enzyme products and how they work. You don't want to miss this session for the health of your pond. August 23, 10:00am How to Build an AquaBasin Come and learn what's new and cool in waterfeatures—the AquaBasin.
