Our mission is to educate the public about water gardening. One way we accomplish this is through our pond classes -- many of which are provided to you at no cost.

Pond Cleaning Demonstration

Learn the steps it takes to clean your pond. We will clean a pond at our store during this seminar -- don't worry, you will just watch! We will offer tips on how to prepare your pond so that it will be healthy and beautiful all season long. Dress appropriately to be outside. Free seminar.

How to Build a Pond
(Classroom Edition)

This class discusses the topic of how to build a pond using a waterfall filter and skimmer. This is a classroom seminar not a hands-on demonstration, but you'll get a good understanding of how the components work together and how to get started on your new pond. (See below for the Hands-on Build a Pond Class). There is no charge for this seminar. PRE-REGISTARATION BY APRIL 20 IS REQUESTED.

Water Garden Symposium

A Day of Fun and Learing! Are you new to water gardening or are you a seasoned water gardener who wants a more in-depth knowledge about the hobby? If you answered yes, please join us for this new event.

Topics Include:

  • Algae. Learn how to beat it, treat it, and prevent it!
  • Aquatic Plants. Find out what plants are best for your feature, are easy to grow, and make the most natural setting.
  • Filtration. Learn different types of filtration, what's new in filtration, and what type of filtration to avoid.
  • Fish. We all love our fish. Do you know how to keep them healthy all year long?
  • Maintenance. Seasonal maintenance, investigating leaks, and pump maintenance are just a few topics covered.
  • Underwater Lighting. The hottest trend in water gardening. Learn how to keep those lights on and to design a lighting package.

Class fee for the Water Garden Sympsium is $20 and includes lunch, a packet of instructional materials, and coupons valued at over $50. Class size is limited. PRE-REGISTRATION BY MAY 12 IS REQUIRED.

Build a Pond Day
(Hands-on)

During this class, attendees will actually build a pond! Learn how our crewbuilds bequtiful, natural, low-maintenance ponds. Plan to spend the day. Lunch and instructional materials are provided. Class is held rain or shine. This is a hands-on participation event. Class fee is $75 but entire fee is credited toward pond kit purchases.
PRE-REGISTRATION BY JUNE 8 IS REQUIRED.

Build a Pond-Free Waterfall Day

During this class, attendees will build a pond-free waterfall from start to finish! Learn the tricks of the trade while working along side our installation crew. Plan to spend the day. Luch and instructional materials are provided. Class is held rain or shine. Class fee is $75 but entire fee is credited toward pond-free kit purchases.
PRE-REGISTRATION BY JUNE 15 IS REQUIRED.
