Our mission is to educate the public about water gardening. One way we accomplish this is through our pond classes — most of which are free. Pre-Registration for classes is requested. If you are attending the Build a Pond or Build a Pondless class, your must register no later than one week prior to class. You may Pre-Register online here.
April 17, 10:00am Start Up Saturday Learn what's necessary to get a pond ready for the coming season, from fish care to plant care, to actually cleaning your pond the correct way. We will clean a pond at our store during the seminar - don't worry you will just watch! We will offer tips on how to prepare your pond so that it will be healthy and beautiful all season long! Dress appropriately to be outside.
April 17, 11:30am All About Algae Is that string algae driving you crazy? How do you keep it at bay- and in the cool water of spring? We have the answer - and we'll share it with you at this seminar. Also covered - the dreaded green water. We will discuss why you may have it this summer and how you can prevent it.
April 24, 10:00am Bird Feeding and Certifying Your Yard As a Wildlife Habitat Let us show you how simple it is to create a wildlife habitat in your own backyard. Help nature while giving yourself great entertainment. Plus, don't waste money on bird food that the birds don't eat -- we'll show you how.
May 1, 10:00am Class Aquatic Plant Day Specials all day We eagerly anticipate the day aquatic plants are available each spring. Join us for a seminar detailing how to care for your beautiful aquatic plants, how to choose your aquatic plants, and strategies to use your aquatic plants for your pond maintenance! We will have great plant specials all day.

May 22, 10:00am to 5:00pm Cool Ponds Water Garden Festival It's the best day of the year for water garden enthusiasts. Join others as we celebrate our joy in water gardening. Listen to experts in the field as they present seminars and discussions as well as presentations and exhibits from watergardening clubs, and local businesses. June 19, 8:30am Build a Pond Day $35 Fee Per Person ($50 for two) Get ready to have some fun and get dirty! During this day long class, participants will actually build a Pond from start to finish. We will start from bare ground and finish with a full functioning water garden with plants and fish by day's end. There is a fee of $35 per participant for this class ($50 per couple). Class fee includes lunch and education literature. Pre-registration is required by June 10. Class will be held rain or shine!
June 26, 8:30am Build a Pond-Free Waterfall Day $35 Fee Per Person ($50 for two) Learn the tricks while working with the pros! During this day long class, participants will build a "pondless waterfall" from start to finish. There is a fee of $35 per participant for this class ($50 per couple). Class fee includes lunch and educational materials. Pre-registration is required by June 17. Class will be held rain or shine!
July 10-11, Times TBA Cool Ponds Annual Water Feature Tour Don't miss this great event! We will have some of your returning favorites and many, many more new water features. The largest pond tour in central Indiana is now two days and on multiple sides of town. Get your tour book early and plan the route that works best for you!
